LIGHT ‘EM UP

hallway_1.jpg

hallway_2.jpg

We just passed electrical inspection and the upstairs hallway is now fully lit.

A LITTLE ROOM TO MOVE AROUND

bedroom_1.jpg

The guest bedrooms upstairs are very close to completion. The main bedroom doors use a beautiful Boomer floor and ceiling door hinge that creates a seamless and hingless entry to the bedrooms. The floor to ceiling cabinetry define the closet system and add plenty of storage. The clear acrylic Artemis ceiling fans add a little fun and drama to the rooms.

UPS AND DOWNS

stairwell.jpg

The wood dividing wall in the stairwell is almost complete. A little more sanding and mild white stain will complete the finish. You can see just a hint of the massive ebony stained cabinet downstairs that will welcome guests.

IN IT FOR THE LONG HALL(WAY)

hallway_paint1.jpg

Once again the painters are hard at work. The hallway and upstairs cabinets are all finished and painted. It’s great to see everything without all the drop clothes and masking tape. Next comes lighting and electrical.

SET AND STAINED

livingroomavcabinet.jpg

The main living room AV cabinet received its finish coat of ebonized stain thanks to the guys at Lozoya Painting and the masterful wood work of the guys from R&R Remodeling. You can check out the before stain photos here. Drawer and cabinet hardware should be installed early next week.

ALL WASHED UP

master_bath.jpg

Master bathroom is almost complete. Just a few more adjustments for the WetStyle vanity and installation of the shower enclosure glass, mirrors and lighting. The guys from Doug’s Plumbing did a great job of installing and aligning all of the fixture. More photos to come next week.

FLAT WORK TO LOUNGE AROUND ON

frontlaw_pads_a.jpgfrontlaw_pads_b.jpgFlatwork around the pool area went in today which means we are closer and closer to sunning and funning. Pool guys should be in towards the end of the week to finish installing equipment, plastering and filling the lap pool. Fencing and irrigation guys will soon follow.

A DIFFERENT SHADE OF GREY

hallway_primer.jpgThe hallway, bedrooms and closet cabinets got their first coat of primer today and the downstairs kitchen cabinets received their first coat of finish paint as well. The two guest bedrooms upstairs have a wall of floor-to-ceiling cabinets that create a beautiful reveal detail in the hallway while functioning as a closet system from within the bedroom. This allowed us to maximize the square footage upstairsĀ  as well as create some nice uninterupted walls in the two guest bedrooms. The same floor-to-ceiling cabinet systems also create and define the entertainment system, closet and bathroom in the master.

THE DRIVE TO THE FINISH

driveway_pour_a.jpgdriveway_pour_b.jpgdriveway_pour_c.jpgDriveway and back entry way steps got poured yesterday so we are inching our way closer to completion on the back side of the home. A bit of finish out with the carport and back storage area should complete the backyard. Then it’s on to irrigation and landscaping.

PAINT ME SOMETHING PRETTY

ceiling_whitewash.jpgcabinets_prepaint.jpgcabinet_ebonystain.jpgPainters have started to make things pretty. The pine wood ceiling and walls got a coat of white-wash stain. This will help the wood from yellowing over time and gives the wood a slightly ash-like finish blending nicely with the paint-grade grey cabinets. The massive rift-cut white oak cabinet also received its first splash of ebonized black stain. Special thanks to the guys at Lozoya Painting.
